I am an architect/designer, researcher and educator.

My doctoral research focused on instances of colonial modernities with relational dimensions and their legacies, while my current work is geared towards postcolonial construction materials, artefacts, technologies, and the exchange of knowledge as they traverse global networks encompassing professional organizations, international building regulations, and educational establishments.

I studied architecture at IUAV Venice (MArch), visual communication at The Basel School of Design (MA) and completed a doctorate in Social Anthropology at the University of Basel. Currently, I am an adjunct lecturer at the USI Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio and an SNSF (Swiss National Science Foundation) postdoctoral researcher at ZHAW Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften. Before my doctoral studies, I was a graduate researcher at ETH Zurich, D-Arch, Chair of Architecture and Urban Design.

My research has been generously supported by the SNSF Swiss National Science Foundation (2018-22), the Tomcsik Stiftung (2019), the FAG Basel (2021), the Swiss TPH, Leading House Africa (2023) and twice by the SAH Scott Opler Emerging Scholar Fellowship.

At present, I am completing my first monograph titled “Relational Modernities: Pancho Guedes' Social Architecture for the Swiss Mission in Colonial Mozambique,” based on my doctoral research, which will be published in Zurich’s Park Books' "Resettlement Archives" series in early 2025. My research has been published in ETH D-Arch Trans Magazine, Joelho Magazine Journal of Architectural Culture, Log 51 and Ardeth. A Magazine on the Power of the Project, among other chapters in edited volumes. For Ardeth, I will curate the next issue, “Energy Landscapes,” with Sascha Roesler and Lorenzo Stieger. Upcoming publications will appear in e-flux architecture and gta papers.

I regularly present at international conferences, including those of the Society of Architectural Historians and the European Architectural History Network. I am a post-1800 review editor at Architectural Histories Journal, and since 2020, I have co-organized DocTalks, an ETH/gta-originated online platform. With DocTalks, I have gained significant experience in building an expansive, inclusive, and supportive academic network, hosting early career researchers from more than 150 universities around the world while also spearheading collaborations with institutions, such as the Emilio Ambasz Institute at MoMA, helping to amplify the voices of our presenters.

In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I design graphics and take photographs. My works are showcased here under "Making."
